Dr. Dhruba contributes to IFS as a Senior Research Fellow at IFS. Over the last 29 years, Dhruba's work has focused mainly on DRM, climate change adaptation, urban resilience, social development, and sustainable livelihoods, during which time he acquired much empirical experience in the execution of development projects and Programs. He has contributed much to the literature in terms of independent evaluation, multidisciplinary research, and good practices and knowledge management of areas like CCA, vulnerability analysis, multi-hazard DRM, urban resilience, multi-hazard risk analysis, Early warning systems, post-disaster recovery and reconstruction, and comprehensive school safety, which includes the issue of disability. He has engaged in applied research and evaluations at the intersection of DRM, CCA, social development and WASH in South Asia and Southeast Asia. Between 2002 and 2022, Dhruba evaluated over 160 programs and projects, including those funded by the World Bank, UN agencies, GEF, DFID, USAID, ADB and many INGOs.
