Handling Plastic Pollution: With Evidence that Guides Our Choices, Governance that Shapes Sustainable Policies, and Impact that Drives Real Change on the Ground

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, we are pleased to invite you to a one-hour seminar that explores Nepal’s plastic pollution crisis through the lens of our guiding motto: Evidence, Governance, and Impact.

Plastic waste continues to threaten Nepal’s rivers, farmlands, tourism destinations, and public health. While bans and policies exist, real change requires actionable data, stronger policy implementation, and grassroots momentum.

This seminar will include:

  • A 30-minute presentation highlighting the latest evidence on plastic pollution in Nepal

  • A discussion on how governance mechanisms at federal, provincial, and local levels can shape more effective and inclusive policies

  • Real examples of impact from local initiatives and what can be scaled
